- To wrap up what has been an awesome week, students and teachers were treated to an hour-long Theatreworks USA production which included a musical revue of some popular kid favorite books - Teacher from the Black Lagoon, Dogzilla, Grumpy Bird, I Want My Hat Back, Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse, Love Splat, The Grasshopper and the Ant.
- We are well on our way to our PARP goal of 50,000 minutes! Great job to everyone who submitted Reading Fish! We collected 784 in total over 5 days! Keep reading and we'll reach our goal in no time.
- Ms. Covington/Ms. Wilcox's class (1,095 minutes), Ms. Schwartz's class (1,255 minutes) and Ms. Nicolino/Ms. Sullivan's class (2,425 minutes) will all enjoy dance parties in the coming weeks for having the most minutes read in each grade. Great job!
- EVERY Countrywood student will receive a Congratulations Certificate and coupon for a free sundae at Applebee's for participating in PARP Week.
- We had incredible responses to the At Home Activities - Riddle of the Day, Book Review, Aquatic Comic, and Reading BINGO! Each child who completed these activities will receive a Certificate and a reading-themed pencil or bracelet for their hard work.
Countrywood PTA is proud to participate once again in NYS PTA's Pick a Reading Partner (PARP) program. "Saddle Up and Read!" is the theme for this year's PARP Week (2/4-2/8/19) at Countrywood. PARP is a statewide program with the goal of inspiring Parents and Reading Partners to read together with their children for at least 15 minutes daily. We hope you find the resource information and ideas in this Blog useful as you get the most out of reading with your child. Enjoy!
